A better day! Laureldean River was very well backed and i fancied the selection to turn over the short priced favourite! The main threat tho came from the staying on Kellystown Lad but the selection dug deep under a good ride and was never headed to score by 11/4 lengths! The lay of the temperamental favourite Maximix at a very short price looked a good bet and the selection was beat back in second when a tired jump at the last so him unseat the rider and miss out on the place money! Colonial Jim had the chance to make it a perfect 3 and was backed as tho he was expected to more than halving in price from an opening 13/2! With the favourite falling at the very first fence the race was there for the taking but despite the selection trading as low as 1.68 in running he quickly dropped back through the field when the pace lifted before being pulled up!
